Great Action!...

With a full hammer-weighted action, the piano sounds feel like playing a piano. And with aftertouch sensitivity, the SP3 allows more expressive playing for non-piano sounds like winds, strings and synths.
User Friendly USB connectivity...

MIDI over USB in addition to standard MIDI jacks.
World Class Effects...

The SP3 is loaded with 128 effect presets.... enough to enhance any performance. These are taken from our acclaimed K and PC series, with better sound quality than most stand alone effects processors!
Quick Access...

Expressive Controls...

The SP3's pitch and mod wheels feel smooth and responsive. Combined with aftertouch and the SP3's 4 front panel knobs, they offer real-time control of sound which is simply unprecedented in a stage piano.
LCD Display...

The SP3's easy to read display provides all the info you'll need to start making music. You will actually see sound and effect names spelled out instead of just a number.

NAMM 2009

Joe Lamond | November 21, 2008

The award-winning author Eric Hoffer once observed, “In times of change, learners inherit the earth; while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.”

While Hoffer didn’t intend this quote to describe our current economic times, it certainly fits. You don’t have to look too far in today’s headlines, your retirement statement or your last month’s sales reports to see that times are tough. We’ve been here before. While younger NAMM Members have heard the tales, those who’ve been around a while have seen times as bad as these or worse…and lived to tell about it.NAMM Convention

In our history we’ve seen the Great Depression, multiple recessions, world wars, extinction of entire instrument categories and the invention of new ones. Iconic brands have come and gone. Through it all, NAMM Members have shown guts and determination. NAMM Members are survivors.

So why quote Hoffer? Because it’s been said that when the business world goes through a major seismic shift, the economy that emerges doesn’t look anything like the economy we started with. To determine the next direction, our industry needs to “come together” to chart a course for the future. And that’s what the NAMM Show is all about.

Those who invest in learning by coming to Anaheim this January will be best suited to thrive in the new world in which we find ourselves. Our economy is changing, and we may actually find ourselves in a better place than we ever envisioned—where people become life-long music makers, play music with their families and value the proven benefits of music education. And this holiday season, NAMM has implemented more market development programs, activities and public relations campaigns to create demand for our industry’s products than ever before.

So turn off cable news and don’t believe your morning paper. Go into your business today with the pride of knowing how music making benefits people of all ages and that you’re part of the greatest business in the world.

See you in Anaheim!

George Smith's Kimball Music Center opened September 27, 1966 in Anderson, Indiana. George and Norma, to start out, had a small inventory of Kimbal pianos and organs as well as a teaching studio. Lonnie and Scott, George and Norma's two sons, grew up in the business helping on deliveries, set up for fairs, organizing the shop, etc.

In 1969, the present location was bought and moved in to. The business became incorporated and was renamed George Smith 's Music Center, Inc. that very same year. Since 1969, the store has been added on to in three different stages. From the front it appears to be very small; once inside there are showrooms, teaching studios. Then if you venture on to the back into the warehouse, you will find a workshop and woodshop which have all been added on to further satisfy our customers as best we can.

Lonnie and Scott service the pianos and organs in the tri-state area and beyond. Both of which have a degree in electronics. George has played professional most of his life; for presidents, first ladies, senators, church conventions, weddings, and funerals. He is also the staff organist at the beautiful Paramount Theatre in Anderson.

George Smith's Music Center Inc, is soley owned and operated by the Smith family. We will be here for years to come, God willing, serving you with beautiful Hammond organs, acoustic/digital pianos, teaching, service as well as any other of your musical needs.
